            How else do you think JRM gets his cash out of the UK and into Europe? Maybe stuffed mattresses are exported from Somerset to Dublin, then get loaded on to ferries bound for Europe.
            Maybe Ireland isn't the parochial backwater that it was during the Victorian era (or whichever era of British history you consider to be the zenith)

              But there are already 3 different routes between France and Ireland... even one from Spain to Ireland!
