Week long contract - contract review?

Hello - I'm about to start a week long contract. Do you think it's worth getting my contract reviewed to see if it falls outside ir35 or would the cost of the review negate any benefit I get from operating outside (if indeed the contract does fall outsdie).

I then also have a 2 week contract and am wondering if that's worth reviewing.

Personally, I wouldn't bother. IR35 investigations are contract based, so even if it was pulled up, the actual tax owing (assuming you were found inside IR35) will be minimal.

is it honestly worth it? what would be the outlay? what would be the difference where you to be consider inside by the IR when you thought you were outside?
I didn't say it was your ******* fault, I said I was blaming you!

OK THanks - It's always worth checking what others would do.

Probably not. But if you are going to be doing many more short-haul gigs, it might be worth learning how to do the basic assessments yourself and challenge anything that looks marginal. Careful study of the PCG's guide to IR35 should give you enough ammo for an informed decision.

I believe IR35 does not apply to contracts less than a week.

Heard this once, not sure where....

We had a talk here from a tax expert through PCG
The basic behind what he was saying was that part of their aim ws to get revenue and target the "easier & potentially more lucrative" cases. In that case - doing 1 & 2 week contracts does NOT make you an easy case.

Agreed - but it doesn't mean IR35 doesn't apply. Due diligence is still required, but you can be a lot more relaxed about it
