    Disclosure Scotland checks taking forever

    Hey all

My first contract gig and as part of it I have to get a Disclosure Scotland check - it's been out over a month now with no sight of progress (apart from "it's done when it's done" from DS). I haven't done anything naughty but feeling a bit down in the dumps about this. Should it take this long? Is there anything I can do?

Yep, it takes time because you have never done one before. Once the first one has been done its quicker as there is less additional work to do....

Five days for mine, so maybe a glitch in your credit/personal history? Have you contacted them and asked why it's taken this long? Missing details?

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

When I had my first one I was warned that it could take up to 6-8weeks. Took about a month... and then Cr@pita lost it...

Advanced Disclosure does take longer. Most banks require the basic.

Did you ring them and actually check if they have your application?

Hyphen was hopeless last time. I called disclosure scotland after 2weeks to chase and I was told that they don't even have my application! Hyphen then admitted they "forgot"... It costed me 2 weeks work!

Yeah, they have it, all they can say is that it's in progress
