Dismantle, put the spools in a fire, recycle the rest. Best I can think of.

Or erase them in a VCR.

Thread hijack!! Stick 'em up, I am taking this thread to... what is the best/most responsible way to dispose of an old telly, CRT type?

Gut the interior, just leaving a shell, get someone crafty to put soft materials in it and you've got the gift of a retro cat bed for any mad cat ladies you know
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

An old neighbour and friend of mine gutted his 1960s/70s telly and made a fine drinks cabinet. However, it was a high quality wood type TV complete with sectional sliding doors, not my black plastic Japanese variety.

Is it not acceptable to throw them out of your car as you drive along some of the most scenic roads in Yorkshire?
It must be, so many of the Keighley scrotes do it around here.

                  I remember them well.

My uncle had one that was basically a mahogany, antique writing bureau in drag.

                  Tasteful, very tasteful.

                    And very very heavy.

There was on that incorporated one of the early Philips VCRs (which was heavy enough in itself) to make the combination of the two even heavier.

I've never actually seen one of those though.

                    I have now:
