We are really only over crowded because most of the land is owned by the landed gentry. It's something like 40% of all UK land is owned by the Decedents of Knights of William the conqueror. So a bit of wealth/land redistribution there wouldn't go a miss. This is your proper establishment class.

We are crowed into the south and South East due to proximity of Europe.

But other nations manage to distribute things between cities better.

Move HP to Birmingham and all government departments to Hull.

Change the law so vacant properties can be compulsory sold off.

Stop the corruption in property building companies.

Raise the min standards on new buildings and on density of housing.

Tax BTL

Stop foreign investment (in property)

Hit corps that buy residential property hard.

Stop endless pensioner protection - universal benefits means a lot of wealthy pensioners get benefits they should not get.

Set up some decent national building schemes. Like a UK new nuclear build.

We shouldn't take useless immigrants, only the useful ones. And those of us here are mostly "the useful ones" and are likely to be welcomed by other countries

Well, every immigrant thinks he is "useful" to someone or something when they come over here - at least "useful" for their pay masters since they are cheap and hence useful in saving money / costs for the local British employers!

So they all qualify to come here, based on your very subjective "Useful" immigrant thing.

What do you think you can be so special or "useful" for in Australia, that Aussies can't be?

And interestingly, in every post I have seen we brits seem to bash immigrants coming here in a very generalised manner, we never seem to distinguish them as "useful" or not! We bash them all with one brush - immigrants! Why do you think other countries will treat you differently?
