      Okay it's clear - everyone here is still living in 1945.

                    Even if you feel European most people sign up to fight for King and country, the draw for many is to serve their country, I am not sure how many soldiers want to die for some other country they have no knowledge or affinity with and that goes for all countries not just the UK

                      the problem with an EU army would be either

                      1) It would never do anything because all member states would need a say in what it was going to do
                      2) It becomes another German army

                      there could be no in-between!
