Maybe work towards stopping the fighting in places like Syria?
    What can the EU do?
Pretending to be effective, democratic, transparent and accountable would be a start. My question was a simple one; to where, in practice, could Austria deport these people? The ECHR will override any decision to send them anywhere which isn't safe (and I don't have any issue with that principle) so the only option is to send them to another neighbouring country, and as it happens they are all in the EU. So the problem is kicked from one to another, without any "leadership" which the EU should be providing, but doesn't.

Remember that an asylum seeker is slightly different to a migrant. EU countries are sending migrants back to their countries all the time, an asylum seeker has to be thoroughly checked first but they do send them back so this isn't really news. The UK quite often send asylum seekers back...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Fiddle their expenses, fail to get their accounts signed off and invite half the world to Europe based on past accomplishments.

Anyone else want to help WTFH in his confused state?

I will take a pee through his letter box when cycling past on Sunday. Or Suntag as it would have been called without Brexit.

            Will that help?

                  Chicken-Gate

Professor Tim Lang, who co-authored a briefing paper on Brexit and food, said the UK would have less power to stand up to the US after it leaves the Brussels bloc.

His comments come as a row broke out over whether chlorine washed chicken could be sold in the UK in order to secure a quick trade agreement with the US.

Speaking on PM on BBC Radio 4, Professor Lang said there was “a little whiff of panic” within the Government as it realised the “enormity of Brexit”.

He added leaving the EU would put Britain in a “weak position” and as a result ministers were trying to “pull a rabbit out of the hat” to do a trade deal with the US.

UK has Open borders between Ireland to N.IR.
However, both the Irish and UK governments as well as EU representatives, have stated that they do not wish for a hard border in Ireland, taking into account the historical and social “sensitivities” that permeate the island.[18] In September 2016 the British Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, David Davis, stated that the UK government would not seek a return to a "hard border" between the UK and Republic of Ireland.[19]

Both governments will try to prioritize the protection of an open border between the Republic and Northern Ireland and the retention of the Common Travel Area
The bottom line is (which many/few know) there is no hard border (checks) when you travel from Ireland to N.Ireland. This means, anyone can enter into Mainland as soon as they are within EU.

If they are in the EU but outside of Ireland they need to get through Irish immigration first. If people do not know this they are pig ignorant.
