It appears HM Govt does not the difference between test being available or not available - we had lies few weeks ago that it will be sold on Amazon for like £1.
Cheap mass antibody test would be very useful now because only bad cases are tested right now, which makes mortality rate very grim.
It's mindboggling they haven't done this already (not via Amazon per say). The majority of the NHS workers should be more than capable of taking their own swab test, why are they forced to drive miles often impaired by symptoms then queue for hours for a drive-through test, instead of getting a couple of dedicated couriers with full PPE drive around NHS worker homes delivering swab kits and collecting the results.
We need to use nanotechnology, microchip all these * little viruses so we can track them.
No need, AtW said we could us the existing CCTV infrastructure to do this. It won't work today, but it can easily be changed to make it work using the image enhancement algorithms they use in the movies.

Healthcare professionals would be able to do their own swabs. Others not.

To begin with they are the only ones being tested currently anyway.
Taking a cheek swap is trivial, there are plenty of examples like DNA test kits etc. There might be some higher degree of complexity in securing a suspected contagious Covid19 sample, but nothing that can't be adapted for the average Joe/Jane to use.
There would eventually be a bottleneck at the Labs that do the actual tests, but from what i gather the current bottleneck is actually taking the swabs.
