It's probably time for those statues to go, I mean who were they apart from some white privileged businessmen who made a fortune using slave labour. They represent Victorian values and it's time to move forward.
Plus they are usually fat and ugly bastards.
Who agrees?
Yes, of course it's appalling from our perspective but you can't rewrite or ignore history. In fact even these protestors' scant knowledge of that history is what allows them to understand how bad slavery is.
But the US culture is infinitely more racist and more deeply embedded than anything over here. Trying to equate the two is the real nonsense.Blog? What blog...?Comment

You started a thread here:

It reads as if you have "already prosecuted and sentenced him in your mind". Tut tut tut.
You'll find some officers who have escaped prosecution from this incident, plenty more if you care to research them:
Death of Eric Garner - Wikipedia
On August 19, Richmond County (Staten Island) District AttorneyDaniel M. Donovan, Jr. announced that the case against Pantaleo would go to a grand jury, saying that after considering the medical examiner's findings, his office decided "it is appropriate to present evidence regarding circumstances of his death to a Richmond County Grand Jury."[82] On September 29, the grand jury began hearing evidence in the Garner case.[82] On November 21, Pantaleo testified before the grand jury for about two hours.[82] After considering the case for two months, the grand jury decided on December 3 not to indict Pantaleo.[82][83]
Under New York law, most of the grand jury proceedings were kept secret, including the exact charges sought by the prosecutor, the autopsy report, and transcripts of testimony. Attempts by the New York Civil Liberties Union and others to gain release of that information have been unsuccessful.[84]
Strange I thought the Grand Jury was a form of prosecution? I think it is slightly equivalent to our CPS yet specifically set up with checks to prosecute civil employees with the advantage the jury members are independent unlike the CPS who have to work with the Police other officials..

What are the requirements for a grand jury to decide to indict someone?
The only requirement is that probable cause exists to support criminal charges against the accused person. In essence, the grand juror must feel there is enough evidence against the person to proceed to trial. It is a very low standard. You could have one witness, a victim, come in and testify without any corroborating physical evidence and get an indictment. That is rare but it does occur in some cases of sexual assault with victims who don’t approach authorities until many years after an incident.
However the Police changed their training as a result.
As a result of Garner's death, Police Commissioner William Bratton ordered an extensive review of the NYPD's training procedures, specifically focusing on the appropriate amount of force that can be used while detaining a suspect.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

How about gifting them to Nige Farage and he can put them in his back garden?

I say this as a non-white person who has faced racism.
There is an etiquette and morality when it comes to protesting. Even violence has some rules. Those who piss on public property in that way or who vandalise deserve to be smashed in the head with a blunt instrument repeatedly until they die (regardless of their colour). They are not innocent victims of police aggression like George Floyd.Comment
