I'm pretty certain this is what it is, the throat and the nasal swab are tested independently.
Not correct. You use the same swab for both; it goes in the throat first, then you shove it up your nose. Drop it in the container and post off. At least, this is how the test was done for me*.

I've had 2 hospital tests and they took 2 swabs and told me the tests were distinct.
