Its called VUI-202012/01 (virus under investigation) and if you google it, we've actually known about it in the UK for months, so its probably been circulating for longer.
No surprise if its already been found in other countries. Its just a matter of when it takes off now.
thats why the swampies are trying to deflect blame to the UK by suspending flights.
it's already in BE and NL.

Not sure anyone is trying to play a blame game. Just sensible to slow down the spread, even if it doesn’t prevent it completely. Mass vaccination is around the corner and next year will be better.
"Britain on Saturday night alerted the World Health Organisation about a new variant of the coronavirus that the Prime Minister said may be “up to 70 per cent” more transmissible than earlier strains."
So, this new strain was out from Sep, but Boris only notified WHO last Saturday, now what was it some people saying about China being slow to nofity WHO?
"Scientists at the Porton Down facility in Wiltshire are growing samples of the new strain before adding serum taken from vaccinated patients to test the response. The results are expected in a “couple of weeks,” Whitehall sources said.
Many of the mutations observed in the new variant have occurred on the virus’ spike protein, which it uses to latch onto human cells.
Scientists are concerned because nearly all Covid vaccines – including the Pfizer jab currently being rolled out across the country – work by targeting this protein. It is also feared that people who caught the old virus could be susceptible again to the new variant.
The Ministry of Defence facility is understood to be researching the new strain at Biosafety Level Three, one below the highest tier reserved for weapons-grade threats."
