Besides which, at some point you owe it to yourself anyway. Despite PACE, cops are still pretty good at being your best friendly mate and catching you with your pants down.
If they believe you're committing a crime, and have evidence, then they should be cautioning you and you should be getting a solicitor. What things like the OPs event is (Taken at face value) is a fishing expedition and/or an attempt to scare you.
