Hedge fund managers were stupid if they thought they would get their way in Germany. Their whole way of operating is anathema to the (very successful) German ‘Rhineland’ industrial management orthodoxy and working culture, whereby businesses and their products are built slowly and steadily, taking account of short and long term needs of a business and it’s stakeholders; sooner or later they were bound to be fooked over by someone who decides to defend German cultural values. If they didn’t know that then they obviously haven’t learnt anything about German business and sholdn’t have been there in the first place; with their actions they have ripped off their clients and attempted to cause serious damage to a healthy business, as would seem to be the norm in financial services.

It serves them bloody well right.

And that's why they still have their industry and UK got the City.

And who is going to buy their fancy cars now if not the City boyos and rich Americans? Germany is fooked.
They should have built tanks, subs, patrol craft and Hawk trainers like us.
          Hard Brexit now!

Yep, and that’s why lots of people in Britain buy German cars. Like them or not, they’re built properly. Actually I live about 40 kms from the German border and I often go to Germany for long weekends away; people are generally very friendly, and what I like most about Germany is that things work (public transport, clean hotels, good service in restaurants and shops etc); things work in Germany because businesses value doing things properly above doing things quickly and cheaply. It used to be that way in the Netherlands until the country’s biggest businesses were either raided by hedge funds or started hiring American managers, public transport and healthcare was handed over to the cheapest bidders and government organisations thought they could learn about management from the same private businesses. There’s a lot of anger here because people feel that what’s made this a rich and successful country is being endangered by parasitic hedge funds and ego-maniac ‘top managers’ who take huge quazillion euro bonuses while leaving a bloody mess behind them.

I’m absolutely delighted to read about what Porsche did; maybe unwittingly they struck a blow for well run European businesses and should be applauded for doing so.

Just in case you did not notice the main object of attack here was VW - they make millions of cars while their competitors like Rover now try to use land for office space.

Porsche will always sell, they've been through more than one recession and managed to survive because they are actually making something real that is in demand without screwing their customers over, if anything Porsches hold value pretty well, something that can't be said about hedge funds or other scammers.

The hedge fund scammers are probably Porsche's biggest customers. HTH.

German cars are hugely over-rated. Japanese ones are much more reliable.
