What a pain. They're always right, even when they're wrong. If they weren't such gits I would have been home an hour ago.

Working with Germans

My grandad used to work with Germans about 63 years ago.
He was a delivery driver for the RAF over Dresden.Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I worked with an East German recently in London, he was ok, reasonably helpful but he did ask some strange and personal questions such as 'how much is your mortgage ?' etc. absolutely no tact.
Although he was the UK managers 'todie', a bit supressed mind you, I bet if he was given any sort of power it could have been like the Thrid Reich in that old place.Comment

You can't understand the true meaning of officious until you've worked with an Austrian. I'm not sure you can truly understand the meaning of **** either."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

Vantage Point
Funny I was chatting to a german last night , who was dissing English, saying they are all vague and frustrating to work with owing to there seeming inability to communicate anything without an over reliance on innuendo.
Russians dont really get it either.
Just an opinion but I think that the English are the regional odd ones out with regards to work and communication styles. There are no evil thoughts except one: the refusal to thinkComment
