I think we need someone with years of experience in Testing to give an opinion on this... as your specification has confused me...

There are very clearly 86 bytes displayed..... So I would say "fail"....

But you may of course be right... I wouldn't want to argue or anything!
No offence, but you sir are a tool. You can only type 85 characters (7-bit ASCII characters if you want to be a pedantic cheesewog) into that space.

I was brutally attacked and beaten by a person resembling the number zero as a child so now I omit the number in all communication.

Do not use the term "space" to mean "field". There is a "space character" in the title, just after a '5':

          "1234567891123456789212345678931234567894123456789 5 12345678961234567897123456789812345"

          Code:
          123456789.123456789.123456789.123456789.123456789.123456789.123456789.123456789.123456789.
          12345678911234567892123456789312345678941234567895 12345678961234567897123456789812345

There is a limit of 85 7-bit ASCII characters within that text field. Simples.

I reckon so. Amazing how you can incite passion over the number of characters in a field though

The board adds a leading and trailing space to the string as well as a space where the string is split to render it over two lines, so strictly speaking it is limited to 85 user generated charecters and 88 characters in total.
