    Nottingham parkway train station is new park and ride direct to London.

    M1 on your doorstep

    A42/A50 on your doorstep

    East Mids airport on your doorstep

      Bit further north than MK, but what about York? Maybe somewhere else in the Midlands so that you can get to Birmingham Airport?
      How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

              Damnit I was just about to say Spain. I knew someone that did this because he was a 100% client site consultant in our N.Europe division, which unfortunately also included UK but he was happy to do the travel/hotel thing in reverse.
