Mrs has a credit card which I pay for. Much easier to set up and no credit checks needed. Well actually nobody would give us a joint account so we had no choice, but it's better anyway with a credit card.

Just curious, what does everyone else do? What does the contractor do?

Every week on a Friday, i walk into the living room and place my wages above the fire place on the shelf, and walk away.

My wife then makes sure the house, kids, food are all looked after.

Joint account , unfortunately all the credit cards and PINs were stolen two years ago. Havn't informed the bank or the police yet, because the guy who stole them spends less money than she did

We have a joint "expense" account and our own accounts where our wages (divis for me) go.

Joint account is run so it mostly has about £1500 in it. This takes a monthly contribution of £1000 from me and £700 from her...

Mrs Swamp has no credit history (in the UK) and doesn't have a job.

My wife earns, 24k a year. She has no idea what I earn, because it's "complicated running your own business, and you never know what's owed to HMRC, VAT man etc and what's yours" and that's the way it's going to stay ;-)

I can't help thinking, thats a little bit sad... you trust her enough to marry her but not enough to be honest about how much you earn
