Bored house husband bores CUK with his boring life.

Been through the same when between contracts - scared me a bit !
You get so used to fitting round a work schedule that you can get a bit lost when that is gone, also hard to enjoy the freetime when there is no contrast.
It's a bit sad really, just institutionalised from age of 4 to go out for the day to school/work.
Especially in winter, it can be grim and not like being a student cos all your mates are working and they dont live in your house !
Lots of hobbies needed I think, preferably some weather proof and some solitary...
Needs a definite plan, just drifting into it might not pan out for some.Comment

Hobbies is the key, defo...you want to be so busy with your hobbies that work gets in the way, then when you end up out of contract it becomes an excellent opportunity to focus on them.
Train spotting for example...I'm alright JackComment

Started writing my novel - am on the first sentence after 3 weeks.

When it's done, don't go and leave the unpublished manuscript on a PMQT (public quantum mass teleporter), or you'll have to start all over again and not finish it for _another_ 500 years!Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment
