It were bloomin' brass monkeys when I left for work at 0650 this morning. Very brisk walk to the tube station.

This afternoon, I am aiming to exit clientco at 5 past new boss o'clock as I have to hot foot it over to Victoria Coach Station to leave a parcel at one of those courier collection places (like an Amazon locker but not for Amazon).

I suspect it's not going to be much warmer...

This year, I have instead been out doing the shopping, as there won't be time tomorrow.

Among other things I needed a birthday card for my Dad, so I made sure I took along stamps and a printed label so I could post it at the sorting office (whence I have a book to collect) on the way back.

So once all the shopping was done I pulled out the newly-purchased card, the stamps, the label - and realised I didn't have a pen

I could have gone back into Sainsbury's and bought one, but I decided I couldn't be bothered. I'll drive out to the Royal Mail depot later, where they have a late-collection box

Which I just did. As I posted the card, I noticed they've moved the final collection time forward from 7:30pm to 6:45pm.

          My time of posting? 6:48pm

Ah well, online tracking tells me his present will be delivered tomorrow, even if he has to wait till Saturday for the card

Tea/dinner/breakfast/lunch this evening was, unusually for a Thursday, lentil <pfffft> soup.

It was nice though somewhat tasteless in a no NaCl sort of way.

For those interested, there's a programme just starting on PBS about Tommy Flowers, Bill Tutte, and Bletchley Park.

It's the BBC programme from some time ago with the now late Captain Raymond "Jerry" Roberts.

And tonight's entertainment was S1E2 of Ófærð, aka Trapped, in which the weather is still a bit nippy in Iceland. Followed by a bit more of The West Wing.

Tonight, I shall take my last dose of the anti-platelet drug Ticagrelor, which they give you now instead of Clopidogrel, as I was told to take it for a year after surgery (which was yesterday), had it reiterated that I should stop taking it in December 2018, and this will be the last one out of the current blister pack. So that's two fewer pills a day from now on, and I should bruise less easily once it's worked its way out of my system

                      Goodnight all
